ABOUT

ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

I am a qualified counselling psychologist and psychotherapist with twenty years of experience within the NHS and private sector. I am an accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapists (UKCP) as well as the British Psychological Society (BPS) and I abide by their codes of ethics.

Working with adults, couples and families,  I specialise in relationships, childhood trauma and in psychological health during the perinatal period. I have specialist experience in working with couples who have experienced pregnancy loss, infertility or other reproductive trauma. In working with adults who are not parents, I may still apply my knowledge of developmental psychology to help you to understand how your earliest experiences of relationship and family life might be impacting upon your current day to day life.

EDUCATION

I completed my doctoral studies in counselling psychology and psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute in West London in 2015, my professional doctorate qualification was accredited by Middlesex University. I have also completed professional development trainings in psychodynamic work with couples at the Tavistock Institute as well as other trainings with the British Infertility Counselling Association amongst others.

I wrote my thesis on the topic of intergenerational trauma, and I also specialise in working with childhood trauma, prenatal trauma and cultural/historical trauma.

EXPERIENCE

I have worked in busy London-based primary care psychology services for individual adults; with looked after children in residential settings, within NHS in-patient units and within a community parent-infant psychotherapy service.
I currently work as an associate clinician for Parenthood in Mind, a busy nation-wide perinatal psychology service. I also see adults and couples for individual or couples therapy in my private practice.
